Trophy Night

The night before trophy night, Shelby and I took Mom out for her 60th birthday dinner!
We went to the melting pot and boy oh boy was it delicious!

Started off this special day with a snack on the porch!
Landon's nature project.  He collected things over the entire summer and kept them on the far corner on the porch (even though GG wasn't too crazy about having snake skins and feathers out there haha).  But, they made for a great nature project and Landon received his nature medal at trophy night!
 Little cruise around the forest.

We had some fun at the pool!

Landon caught a lizard at the pool.

And then Landon had his end of the year party with his camp group.  Elle got in on the action too!
 The Sherwood minion. :)
Gavin so badly wanted a try at swinging the bat.

 The Nit Boys!

Then we went to the bowling alley for a birthday party...talk about a busy day!

This made me so proud.  All summer long, we worked so hard on teaching Landon and Elle car safety.  When they walk to the baseball field from the cottage, they were to hold hands and walk on the side of the road.  A car came by and if you look close enough, you can see Landon had wrapped his arms around Elle to protect her from running out into the road.  SO wonderful to see him protect her.

All dressed up and ready for Trophy night!

My favorite thing to do when I was a little girl was to see the final result of the clubhouse fully set up for trophy night.  I loved seeing all the medals and trophy's organized with the banners all hung.  Such great memories.
Who will win...Romans or Spartans!?  I have always been a Spartan at heart. :)

Elle about to receive her art medal.
 Landon getting his nature medal.

Girl of the year 2000.  :)

The after-party for the Playgrounders and Nits.  Ice cream party!

I found one of my old counselors from when I was in camp.  Amber was my counselor when I was probably 8 or 9 years old.

Trophy night was a huge success and we had a lot of fun!  Landon and Elle are hooked on Sherwood camp now.  :)
And of course, we ended the night playing "Name that Tune"!
And as always, a giant dance party!
